Waypoint exists to give people a place to be honest — without judgment, without a permanent trace. That only works if everyone here treats each other with basic respect. These guidelines explain what's expected, and what happens if they're broken.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Waypoint. We enforce this with an age gate at signup, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the app.
Every post and every individual chat message can be reported with one tap, no explanation required. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, content that breaks these guidelines is removed, and accounts that violate them may have content removed, be temporarily restricted, or be permanently banned — including being blocked from ever matching with others again.
You can also permanently block any specific user at any time. Once blocked, that person can never be matched with you again, and their posts will no longer appear on your Wall.
Moments are pictures that one person sees once. They are screened before anyone can open them. Never share a picture of a child or of anyone who may be under 18, nudity, graphic injuries, hate symbols, or someone's private information (IDs, documents, screenshots of private chats). Breaking this rule removes your account.
Voice posts follow the same rules as text posts. Recordings are transcribed and screened automatically, and re-spoken in a synthetic voice, but no screening is perfect — if you hear something concerning in a voice post, report it immediately.
If you're struggling, Waypoint is not a substitute for professional help. Our crisis-language detection surfaces real helpline resources when concerning language is detected in a text post. If you or someone else appears to be in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services directly.
